Back in July, we gave you the best plays of the first half of the season. Let’s close the book with the top plays of the second half.

Going through many plays, a couple things stand out. Man, Joc Pederson covers a lot of ground in center field. Man, I still scratch my head watching that play where the fan tried to take the ball away from Adrian Gonzalez. And don’t try top steal home on Clayton Kershaw.

Enough of my commentary, just enjoy …

July 8: Kershaw strikes out Andres Blanco to complete a shutout in front of his wife and his baby.

***

July 9: Zack Greinke tosses his sixth straight scoreless start, tying an MLB record, while running his scoreless innings streak to 43 2/3.

***

July 20: Pederson runs towards the warning track and makes a nice catch on a deep fly ball hit by Cameron Maybin.

***

July 20: Justin Turner goes to his left to make a nice stop on a grounder, throwing to first to retire Andrelton Simmons and save a run.

***

July 26: J.P. Howell pounces off the mound and dives to haul in the first out of the ninth on Kirk Nieuwenhuis’ popped-up bunt attempt.

***

August 1: Howie Kendrick makes a great diving stop on a grounder off the bat of former Angels teammate Erick Aybar and flips to second from the ground for the out.

***
August 4: Jimmy Rollins is introduced to a rousing ovation in his first game back in Philadelphia.
***

August 8: Yasiel Puig shows off his talents in the outfield by barehanding a ball and then firing a strike to second to nail the runner. Incredible!

***

August 10: Puig dashes in and lays out to make an outstanding catch on Yunel Escobar’s bid for a base hit in the fifth inning.

***

August 11: The always exciting triple: The Dodgers challenge whether Andre Ethier beat the tag at third in the fourth, and the umpires rule him safe.

***

August 12: Kiké Hernandez makes a sliding stop on Yunel Escobar’s grounder, spinning and firing to first for the out in the sixth.

***

August 14: Gonzalez belts a three-run home run to right field to give the Dodgers a four-run lead in the fifth inning. The home run proved vital as the Dodgers won 5-3.

***

August 16: Greinke goes back-to-back with Pederson with a home run to left-center, where a fan catches the ball in his hat.

***

August 18: Kershaw makes a terrific play to snare a comebacker off the bat of Eric Sogard, then tosses to first for the out.

***

August 23: Kershaw throws Carlos Gomez out trying to steal home.

***

August 29: Turner ranges in to field a bunt and makes a great diving catch in the top of the fifth inning.

***

August 31: Chase Utley makes a sliding stop on a grounder up the middle and makes a great glove flip for the force out.

***

August 31: Gonzalez launches a single to left field, driving in A.J. Ellis to give the Dodgers a walk-off win in the 14th inning.

***

September 1: With the tying run on second, Jose Peraza fields Brandon Belt’s grounder to start a 4-6-3 double play in a critical situation, helping to secure a 2-1 victory against the Giants.

***

September 2: Kershaw strikes out 15 in a complete-game victory vs. the Giants, allowing just one run on six hits and a walk.

***

September 3: Corey Seager rips a double into the right-field corner to earn his first career hit as his parents watch from the stands.

***

September 4: Scott Schebler belts his first career homer, a game-tying solo shot in the top of the second. The homer was the longest by a Dodger in the second-half — 447 feet.

***

September 6: Turner makes an outstanding diving stop up the middle and quickly throws from his knees to retire Justin Upton at first.

***

September 12: Seager hits his first Major League home run and plays it cool in the dugout as he receives the silent treatment from his team.

***

September 14: Gonzalez reaches into the stands for a nice grab as a fan tries to collect the foul ball at the same time.

***

September 20: Utley makes an impressive diving stop on a grounder up the middle and fires from one knee for the out at first.

***

Bonus – Fan play of the second half.

October 2: A fan makes a great leaping catch on a foul ball at Dodger Stadium.
