Yasiel Puig and Jared Goff — that’s what friends are for
By Matthew Mesa
Jared Goff, the first overall pick in this year’s NFL draft, will soon start his rookie campaign with the Los Angeles Rams. As a 17-year-old, he tweeted that a fastball should find the ribs of another athlete representing L.A. in his rookie year, Yasiel Puig.
That 2013 tweet added a few thousand retweets on April 28, the night Goff was drafted by the NFL team that will call Los Angeles its home. Puig, to his credit, took the tweet in stride and invited Goff to a Dodger game.

Goff accepted Puig’s invitation and on Monday night the two buried the hatchet in person.
Goff, along with a few of his Rams teammates, got to take batting practice and visit the Dodgers clubhouse prior to the game.

Before Goff took the mound for the night’s ceremonial first pitch, Puig had some advice.
Dodger manager Dave Roberts had one last change before letting Goff deliver his pitch.
