Beatles Night at Dodger Stadium celebrates a 50-year anniversary
By Cary Osborne
Almost 50 years to the date after the Beatles performed at Dodger Stadium, the band’s massive presence will be felt again in the same ballpark.
Dodger Stadium will host Beatles Night on August 26. That same night, the Dodgers will clash with the National League Central leading Chicago Cubs.
The Dodgers are offering a ticket package that includes a ticket to the game and a co-branded Beatles/Dodger 50th Anniversary Beach Towel. Tickets can be purchased at dodgers.com/beatles. The beach towel is available exclusively through this link.
The Beatles tribute band “The Fab Four” will perform prior to the game, beginning at approximately 6 p.m. Brian Ray, a guitarist for Sir Paul McCartney’s band, will perform the National Anthem that night.
To top it off, Friday Night Fireworks (presented by Denny’s) will feature a Beatles mix by “Breakfast with the Beatles” host Chris Carter.
The Beatles performed the penultimate show of their final tour at Dodger Stadium on August 28, 1966. They played two shows — ever — after Dodger Stadium: Candlestick Park in San Francisco on August 29 and their rooftop farewell at Apple Records headquarters in London in 1969.
