Here are the highlights from the Dodger farm system for August 22, including stellar pitching performance…
- As noted late Monday, Jose De Leon tossed another gem in Oklahoma City’s 7-0 victory over New Orleans, striking out 10 in seven innings of one-hit ball. Yasiel Puig went 2 for 5 with his fourth homer since joining Oklahoma City on August 7, hitting .417 (20 for 48) in 13 games.
- In addition, Trevor Oaks was named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week, thanks to his 11-strikeout complete game.
- Great Lakes Loons first baseman Ibandel Isabel collected his 16th multi-hit game of the season, going 2 for 4 with a homer in the 4-3 victory over Fort Wayne. Since being promoted from Ogden to Single-A Great Lakes on August 4, Isabel is hitting .308 (20-for-65) with 10 extra-base hits (six homers) and 14 RBI in 17 games.
- Dominican Summer League Dodgers starter Jasiel Alvino tossed five innings, allowing just one run on seven hits, but did not factor in the decision in the Dodgers’ 3-2 extra-inning victory against the DSL Royals. In nine out of his 10 starts this season, Alvino has allowed two runs or fewer, posting a 2.41 ERA in 41 1/3 innings in those appearances.
