Great Lakes takes championship series home tied

The Cinderella team of the Midwest League postseason picked itself off the ground, dusted itself off and evened the Midwest League Championship Series on Thursday.
One night after a blowout loss to the Clinton LumberKings (Mariners), the Single-A Great Lakes Loons got superb pitching from Leonardo Crawford and 2015 first-rounder Walker Buehler to earn a 4-0 win on the road.
The Loons and LumberKings are now even at one game apiece in the best-of-five series. Clinton won Game 1, 16-6.
Buehler started, went three innings and allowed two hits and struck out four. Crawford then pitched the next five, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out eight. Dean Kremer, a 2016 14th-rounder, closed the door in the ninth with two strikeouts.
Dodgers No. 12 prospect Omar Estevez knocked in two with a singe in the third inning. He doubled and scored in the seventh. Estevez has 12 hits and nine RBI in eight postseason games. The series shifts to Midland, Mich. where the Loons will host Saturday’s Game 3.
